George asserts that the widow was not giving based on something that God told her but instead was responding to encouragement from religious leaders. A closer look at what Jesus said reveals that the widow was being plundered by religious leaders.  The widow’s gift is NOT an example for Christian generosity.  It is just the opposite of what Jesus was actually teaching his group of soon-to-be religious leaders.
